Muralist: David F. Heatwole, Martinsburg WV
This vertical mural was made with reclaimed latex house paints and acrylic art paints.
The mural is 8' feet wide by 20' tall and is made up of five 4' x 8' marine-grade MDO panels. Each panel was attached to the building with masonry nails with washers keeping the boards away from the face of the building. This gap between the panels and the brick should preserve the building from any kind of mold or debris buildup that could have developed if the boards were flush against the building. This was one requirement issued from the city's Historic Preservation Review Committee.
it took Heatwole 3 months to create the mural and was created inside the building with permission and support of the owners Van
The unveiling was held on xxxx and was performed by participants who donated to the cause by giving money for an opportunity to throw water balloons at targets drawn on water soluble paper that Heatwole covered the mural with.
